Guidelines For Growth

THE DIRECTORATE OF CELEBRATION

THE COLLEQUIUM OF CLERGY
The called and liscensed ministry of the spoken word.
- Overseer: Dr. Earl Preston, Jr.

THE FELLOWSHIP OF DEACON'S
Made up of men set aside by the congregation and ordained by the church and the pastor to assist in the ministry of care and direction of this congregation.
- Chairperson: Tom Martin

THE FELLOWSHIP OF DEACONESS
Wives of deacons and women selected to assist in the administration of the sacrament of the church and the spiritual care of the members of the Morning Star Family.

ADJUTANTS
A group of men and women of willing heart who realize the value of serving those who lead the church.

ALTAR GUILD
A committee responsible for the care and maintenance of the altar area in the sanctuary of the church.

THE FELLOWSHIP OF USHER'S
"The Door Keepers In the House of God" and responsible for the welcoming and seating and care of the members of the Morning Star Family and visitors during our regular worship assemblies.

ADMINISTRATION

CASM (Christian Action & Social Ministries)
A board set aside and made up of members of Morning Star Baptist Church to oversee the outreach programs of this Church that are funded by outside sources.

CHURCH COUNCIL
Made up of ALL group chairpersons and secretaries who are responsible for the organization and administration of auxiliary participation.

MORNING STAR NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
A non-profit board formed to oversee the maintenance of our housing development.

THINK TANK - Ad Hoc
Made up of a cross section of members of our church family given the responsibility to chart our course towards expansion and building.

FELLOWSHIP OF TRUSTEE'S
A body of men and women who are responsible for the general and physical upkeep of the church; the finances of the church and responsible for making all legal transactions and securing all legal documents pertaining to the finances and legal obligations of the church.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

DEPARTMENT OF BLACK STUDIES
This department is designed to enlighten our Church Family on the history of our black people.

Multi-Media MINISTRY
A department of our Christian Education Ministry. This department handles all audio-visual equipment that pertains to the teaching, evangelistic, and outreach ministries of our church.

MORNING STAR BIBLE INSTITUTE
A school accredited through the church for concentrated study of Bible.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
To introduce new members to the Christian Family and direct them in stewardship and doctrines of the Morning Star Baptist Church.

Provides a learning experience and study into God's word to strengthen the development of our Christian Growth.
